Uzbek President Calls Pakistan a Close, Trusted Partner

Islamabad(The COW News Digital) Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev described Pakistan as a close friend and a trusted partner, emphasizing both nations’ commitment to advancing cooperation on regional and global issues. The remarks were made during a ceremony where several bilateral agreements were signed, underscoring growing diplomatic, economic, and educational ties between the two countries.

Addressing the gathering, President Mirziyoyev thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the warm welcome and exemplary hospitality extended to him and his delegation. “The reception and arrangements for my visit have been outstanding. I cannot fully express my gratitude for the warmth shown to me and my team,” he said.

The Uzbek president highlighted that the day was memorable for him, as he received the “Nishan-e-Pakistan” award, along with honorary doctorate and professorship degrees, noting that such honors come with both recognition and responsibility.

The Uzbek president also expressed appreciation for the agreement to establish Babar Park in Islamabad, honoring the legacy of their shared cultural heritage, and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining strong future ties. He extended early Ramadan greetings to the people of Pakistan.
