Wind speeds reached up to 97 kilometers per hour in Mauripur and around 90 kilometers per hour on Shahrah-e-Faisal, according to officials.

The city’s power supply system was severely affected, with more than 800 feeders of K-Electric tripping during the storm. As a result, large parts of the city were plunged into darkness. Areas including North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Surjani Town, FB Area, Saddar, and Clifton experienced prolonged outages.

Thunderstorms and intermittent rainfall continued after the initial storm, further complicating recovery efforts. Electricity supply was also disrupted in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Jamal, DHA Phases I and II, Akhtar Colony, Kashmir Colony, and Garden.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department reported that the recorded wind speeds were among the highest in recent months and warned that unstable weather conditions could persist. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.
