National ( The cow news digital ) Pakistani security forces launched a strong retaliatory response following what officials described as unprovoked aggression from Afghan Taliban fighters and affiliated militants along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, security sources confirmed on Tuesday.
According to security officials, the operation—referred to as Operation Ghaza-e-Haq—was initiated after hostile activity was reported in the Chaman sector, where Afghan Taliban positions allegedly engaged in cross-border provocation.
In response, Pakistani forces carried out precise and coordinated strikes targeting multiple enemy posts. Security sources stated that several Afghan Taliban checkpoints were destroyed during the counter-operation. Among the targeted locations were Sarshan, Almarjan, Edhi Post, and other strategic installations reportedly being used for militant activity.
Officials emphasized that the response was measured yet forceful, aimed at neutralizing threats and preventing further escalation along the sensitive border region. The operation, according to sources, remains ongoing and will continue until all designated objectives are achieved.
Security sources further reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully committed to defending the country’s territorial integrity and will respond decisively to any form of aggression. They added that attempts by militant groups and their alleged supporters to destabilize border areas would not succeed.
The military leadership reaffirmed that safeguarding national sovereignty is a non-negotiable priority and that any hostile actions will be met with proportional and effective force.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the reported cross-border aggression, expressing strong support for the armed forces. He praised the military’s response, stating that it effectively countered hostile actions and delivered a clear message to those involved in destabilizing activities along the frontier.
Tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border have periodically flared in recent months, with security forces maintaining heightened vigilance in key sectors. Officials say continued monitoring and operational readiness remain essential to ensure stability in border regions.
Authorities have not reported any civilian casualties in the latest exchange, while assessments of material damage on both sides are still underway.
