Islamabad(The COW News Digital)A local court in Karachi has been informed of fresh developments in the forensic examination of digital evidence against alleged drug dealer Anmol, also known as Pinky.
During proceedings before the Judicial Magistrate South in Karachi, police submitted an application seeking permission to send multiple digital recordings for forensic analysis. The case involves charges related to narcotics and other alleged offenses.
According to the prosecution, investigators recovered various forms of digital material during the course of the inquiry, including voice messages, call recordings, and other audio files purportedly linked to the accused. However, the defense has challenged the authenticity of the recordings.
Police told the court that the accused has denied ownership of the voice messages and audio clips. The suspect maintains that the voice heard in the recordings is not hers, making forensic verification essential to the case.
In their written request, investigators asked the court to direct that all relevant digital evidence be sent to a forensic laboratory in Punjab for scientific examination. The application emphasized the need for an independent technical review to determine whether the voice in the recordings matches that of the accused.
Officials argued that a forensic report would help establish the credibility of the evidence and ensure that conclusions are based on scientific analysis rather than assumptions. They said such verification is necessary to strengthen the prosecution’s case and to maintain transparency in the judicial process.
The court has yet to issue a final ruling on the request but is expected to consider whether the digital material should be forwarded to the designated laboratory for expert evaluation.
Legal analysts note that digital forensics has become increasingly central in criminal investigations, particularly in cases involving alleged narcotics networks and organized activity. Courts are placing greater emphasis on authenticated electronic evidence, especially when defendants dispute ownership or authorship.
If approved, the forensic analysis could play a decisive role in determining whether the recordings can be admitted as reliable evidence during trial.
The matter has been adjourned pending the court’s decision on the prosecution’s application.
