National ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of facing mounting political pressure, claiming that attempts to target him through what he described as a propaganda campaign would not restore the Indian leader’s credibility.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Khawaja Asif responded to criticism originating from India, saying that personal attacks and efforts to portray him as mentally unstable would not address the underlying political issues. He argued that such tactics were intended to divert attention from challenges confronting the Indian government.
The defence minister asserted that Prime Minister Modi has been under significant pressure following what he characterized as Pakistan’s success in recent bilateral tensions. According to Asif, campaigns directed against Pakistani political figures cannot repair the image or standing of the Indian leadership.
Asif also referred to comments made by Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that Gandhi had questioned the credibility of international honours awarded to Prime Minister Modi. He further alleged that a British newspaper had raised concerns regarding the transparency and reputation of those recognitions.
The Pakistani minister maintained that efforts to build what he described as an artificial international image of the Indian prime minister would ultimately prove unsuccessful. He said political narratives should be based on facts rather than personal attacks or media campaigns.
The latest exchange adds to the continuing war of words between senior officials in Pakistan and India, reflecting the tense political atmosphere that has persisted between the two neighbouring countries. Public statements from leaders on both sides frequently draw attention during periods of heightened diplomatic and political friction.
