World ( The cow news digital ) Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a large-scale missile and drone operation targeting 85 military sites, including American military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions.
In a statement released by the IRGC, the operation was carried out jointly by Iran’s naval and aerospace forces. The military said the strikes targeted the headquarters of the United States Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, along with several other military-related locations.
Iran described the operation as a response to what it called a violation of a ceasefire agreement by the United States. According to the IRGC, Washington allegedly carried out airstrikes earlier the same day on coastal and civilian areas in Iran’s Hormozgan Province and the city of Mahshahr, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks.
The Iranian military characterized the strikes as an “initial response,” warning that the country reserves the right to take further action if its sovereignty or national security is threatened. Officials reiterated that Iran would continue to defend its territory against what it views as foreign aggression.
The IRGC also accused the United States of attempting to undermine a significant national event by conducting military operations during the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The statement claimed the attacks were intended to diminish the importance of the occasion but insisted that Iran’s armed forces and citizens would not be intimidated.
As of publication, there has been no official confirmation or response from the United States, Bahrain, or Kuwait regarding Iran’s claims. Independent sources have also not verified the reported missile and drone strikes, and there is no confirmed information on casualties or damage.
Military analysts say that if the claims are independently confirmed, the incident could represent one of the most serious escalations involving Iran and the United States in recent years. Any verified attack on American military facilities in the Gulf would likely heighten regional security concerns and increase the risk of broader military confrontation.
The reported developments come amid already strained relations across the Middle East, where ongoing geopolitical disputes and military activities continue to raise fears of further instability. Regional governments and international observers are closely monitoring the situation as they await official statements and independent verification of the reported attacks.
