National ( The cow news digital ) A court in Gujranwala has issued a notice to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman after a petition was filed seeking the registration of a criminal case over his recent speech concerning Pakistan’s armed forces.

The petition was submitted by Advocate Manzoor Qadir Bhinder, who requested the court to direct police to register a case against the veteran politician. The petitioner alleged that Fazlur Rehman’s remarks were controversial and warranted legal action under applicable laws.

Additional Sessions Judge Faisal Jameel issued notices to both the Civil Lines Station House Officer (SHO) and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, directing them to appear before the court on July 28. The court also instructed the police to submit a report on the matter at the next hearing.

The petition follows public debate over comments attributed to the JUI-F chief during a recent speech. His remarks have drawn criticism from political leaders and religious figures, with several calling them inappropriate in relation to the country’s military personnel and martyrs.

Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Allama Tahir Ashrafi also condemned the reported remarks, stating that he apologizes to the families of martyrs over the comments. He emphasized the importance of respecting those who lost their lives in service to the country.
