National ( The cow news digital ) The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued a landmark decision ruling that it no longer holds the jurisdiction to hear main appeals and bail applications related to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases. Delivering the short order, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar clarified that under Sections 32 and 32A of the NAB law, the apex court lacks the statutory power to adjudicate these matters.
The court further ruled that all proceedings and petitions falling under Articles 175A and 175F will be deemed automatically transferred to the newly formed Federal Constitutional Court.
This judicial development directly impacts several high-profile political figures, including PTI founder Imran Khan. The former Prime Minister had previously approached the Supreme Court to challenge a High Court order regarding his bail. However, the Registrar’s Office returned the petition after raising procedural objections. Following the Supreme Court’s latest directive, Imran Khan’s bail plea and similar cases will now be taken up by the Federal Constitutional Court.
