National ( The cow news digital ) The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police spokesman has raised serious security concerns regarding ongoing protests, alleging that elements associated with a banned committee are forcibly confiscating citizens’ National Identity Cards (CNICs) and carrying advanced weaponry, including sniper rifles.

Speaking at a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Riaz Mughal strongly questioned the peaceful nature of the demonstrations. He asserted that individuals advocating for peace do not march with firearms, accusing elements within the protest of systematically carrying out violent and terror-linked activities targeted directly at law enforcement agencies.

According to the police spokesman, the demonstrations have severely disrupted daily life for local residents. He alleged that some protesters have resorted to forcibly taking food from homes, arguing that the presence of heavy weaponry hidden behind white flags directly contradicts claims of a peaceful movement.

Police officials further claimed that nearly 70 percent of the individuals participating in the unrest consist of individuals with criminal backgrounds and drug addiction. The spokesman alleged that some demonstrators were injured by gunfire originating from within their own ranks, after which the blame was deliberately directed toward security forces to delegitimize state institutions.

Detailing the casualties suffered by law enforcement, the spokesman stated that the recent violence resulted in the death of a police sub-inspector, left one officer with a fractured spine, and injured 174 personnel overall. He added that three police personnel had been killed in prior incidents linked to the agitation, emphasizing that such severe casualties among security forces make it impossible to view the ongoing protests as peaceful.
