National ( The cow news digital ) Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to return to the Lanka Premier League (LPL) after joining Kandy Royals ahead of the playoff stage, league officials confirmed.
According to an LPL spokesperson, the Pakistani pacer has rejoined his franchise following a brief return home due to personal reasons after the completion of the group stage matches.
The high-stakes playoff phase of the Lanka Premier League is scheduled to commence on August 5 in Colombo. Shaheen’s return significantly boosts Kandy Royals’ bowling attack as they push for the title.
In addition to Shaheen Afridi, Pakistani cricketers Khushdil Shah and Hassan Nawaz have also been integrated into the Kandy Royals squad, strengthening the team’s international depth ahead of the crucial knockout fixtures.
