Pakistani border authorities have granted special humanitarian permission for a critically ill 10-day-old Afghan newborn to enter the country via the Torkham border crossing for urgent medical treatment.
According to official sources, the infant, accompanied by parents from Jalalabad, Afghanistan, was permitted entry into Pakistan due to severe health complications requiring immediate specialized medical intervention.
Following cross-border coordination, the newborn was admitted to the Frontier Corps (FC) Hospital, where medical staff are currently providing essential emergency care and stabilization.
Government officials emphasized that the decision was taken purely on humanitarian grounds, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating life-saving medical assistance for vulnerable individuals across the border despite strict border management protocols.
