Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan warned in the National Assembly that his party might soon exit the house, questioning who authorized taking party founder Imran Khan to the wrong hospital overnight.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, Gohar expressed frustration over the handling of the former prime minister’s medical checkup. He stated that certain forces appear determined to push PTI out of the parliamentary system, adding that the leadership will decide within days whether to remain part of the assembly. Directing his comments at Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Gohar remarked that if the government and parliamentary leadership do not want their presence, they are prepared to leave, offering congratulations on “their style of democracy.”
Gohar emphasized that the party had explicitly instructed its supporters not to gather at Shifa International Hospital or record videos in deference to Supreme Court directives and to avoid disrupting the medical evaluation. He questioned who made the sudden midnight decision to bypass the court-designated facility, transport Imran Khan to PIMS hospital instead, and return him to Adiala Jail within an hour, alleging an effort to sabotage the medical process.
