ISLAMABAD: Informed sources report that the continuation of family visits for incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan remains strictly contingent on his relatives adhering to agreed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Under these terms, family members are required to refrain from holding post-visit press conferences or issuing controversial political statements.
The development follows recent family visits granted under Supreme Court directions. Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Khanum, was permitted to meet the former prime minister at Adiala Jail on Tuesday, marking her second visit within a few days. The meeting proceeded without post-visit media briefings, signaling compliance with the established guidelines.
Sources indicate that security and administrative authorities have linked the relaxation of visitation restrictions to strict compliance with these rules. The arrangement aims to ensure family access remains purely personal and prevents visitation privileges from being utilized as a platform for political messaging or public confrontation with state institutions.
Should the family maintain compliance with the agreed SOPs and prevent public statements attributed to the PTI founder, authorities expect regular visitation schedules to continue.
