KARACHI: Prominent Pakistani news anchor and television host Rabia Anum has expressed deep concern over the prevailing child safety situation in the country, issuing an urgent appeal to parents to exercise heightened vigilance regarding their children’s protection.
In a video statement shared on her social media platforms, Rabia Anum emphasized that child safety extends far beyond providing good clothing, proper nutrition, or access to schooling. She stressed that the current environment demands maximum alertness and proactive protection from parents at all times.
“If you have children, you must take their safety in Pakistan extremely seriously,” the TV host stated. She cautioned parents against leaving young children unattended with anyone, regardless of long-standing personal relationships or familiarity, highlighting that both young girls and boys are increasingly vulnerable to threats.
Specifically addressing working parents, Rabia Anum advised against blind trust, urging families to install surveillance cameras at home and closely monitor caregivers.
