RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir emphasized the crucial role of young people in combating digital propaganda and disinformation through objective, fact-based analysis, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Friday.
The military chief made these remarks during an interactive session with a delegation of international students from Harvard Business School at General Headquarters (GHQ). According to the military’s media wing, discussions encompassed regional and global geopolitical developments, Pakistan’s security framework, and ongoing national initiatives aimed at fostering regional peace, stability, and economic growth.
Highlighting the dynamic challenges of an increasingly volatile global landscape, Field Marshal Asim Munir stressed the vital importance of education, technical skill development, and youth entrepreneurship. He cautioned against unverified online narratives and advised young leaders to cultivate critical thinking grounded in objective research and verified data rather than falling prey to social media propaganda.
During the session, the visiting Harvard delegation shared positive impressions of their journey across Pakistan, highlighting the hospitality and warmth of the local populace alongside the country’s vast developmental potential and economic opportunities.
