Riyadh (The COW News Digital) The United States has ordered its non-emergency government personnel and their families stationed in Saudi Arabia to leave the country amid growing security concerns linked to Houthi attacks and rising regional tensions.

The decision follows warnings that Iran-backed Houthi forces are carrying out operations against Saudi Arabia, including attacks targeting civilian airports and other critical infrastructure.

According to a security alert issued by the US Embassy in Riyadh, these attacks have reportedly resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, while also severely disrupting air travel.

The embassy warned that the ongoing tensions could rapidly spread beyond their current scope, raising concerns about further security incidents across the region.

The advisory also instructed US government personnel in Saudi Arabia to obtain approval from the head of their diplomatic mission before using any Saudi airport following Houthi attacks.

Officials were further advised to exercise extreme caution while travelling and follow the security instructions issued by the embassy.

The departure order reflects Washington’s concerns about the evolving security situation in Saudi Arabia and the possibility of a wider escalation in the region.

The move comes amid heightened regional uncertainty, with the US mission urging its personnel to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
