Three suspects, including Dr. Warda’s friend and her husband, have been arrested, while efforts to apprehend the fourth suspect, identified as the main accused, are ongoing. Investigations indicate that Dr. Warda had been concerned about the safety of 67 tolas of gold she was carrying prior to her planned travel abroad. The primary suspect, a female accomplice, gained Dr. Warda’s trust and persuaded her to leave the gold in her custody. Sources revealed that the suspect had previously pledged some of the gold in exchange for 5 million Pakistani rupees.
Police have arrested the accomplice, her employee, and an additional facilitator involved in the crime. Authorities are now intensifying efforts to capture the main suspect, Shamraz, who is believed to have orchestrated the abduction and murder.
The case has sparked public outrage, particularly given the brazen nature of the crime near a public hospital. Security analysts and local residents have called for stricter measures to ensure the safety of healthcare professionals, noting the increasing risks faced by doctors working in high-density urban areas.
Officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and all leads are being pursued rigorously. They have urged the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the apprehension of the remaining suspect.
The abduction and murder of Dr. Warda have highlighted the vulnerabilities faced by individuals carrying valuables and the need for enhanced security protocols in public spaces, including hospital premises. Authorities continue to reassure citizens that justice will be served and that all perpetrators will be brought to account.
