KARACHI (The COW News Digital) Pakistani cinema fans have a reason to be excited as the cast of the upcoming romantic film Nilofar shared their enthusiasm and high hopes for the project. Leading actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, along with seasoned performers Behroze Sabzwari, Sarmad Gilani, Madiha Imam, and Atiqa Odho, expressed confidence that the film’s story will resonate with audiences.
During a media talk, Mahira Khan described the experience as a rare joy. “There are projects in life where even being a small part brings happiness,” she said. Fawad Khan echoed this sentiment, adding, “I have learned a lot from this film and made some mistakes along the way, but I hope that when you watch it, you will enjoy it.”

Nilofar is written and directed by Ammar Rasool. The film features Fawad, Mahira, and Madiha in central roles. Many members of the cast have previously collaborated on the popular drama serial Humsafar. The project also marks Fawad Khan’s third collaboration with Mahira Khan, following their successful partnerships in Humsafar and The Legend of Mola Jatt.
Addressing delays in the film’s completion, Fawad clarified that the primary reason was the COVID-19 pandemic. “It wasn’t a mistake, just a coincidence. When COVID arrived, I felt pausing the shoot was the responsible thing to do,” he explained.
When asked whether any scene from the film could become iconic, Mahira admitted that predicting such moments is impossible. “If we knew, we would have created such a scene already. But if the film becomes a trend, it would certainly make us happy,” she said.
The discussion also touched upon Karachi, Mahira Khan’s hometown, which she praised warmly. She described the city as a “mother who welcomes people with open arms,” acknowledging its dual nature. “Sometimes people take a lot from Karachi, and sometimes the city shows its tough side, but that’s the essence of Karachi,” she added.
With a strong cast, experienced director, and heartfelt storytelling, Nilofar is positioned to be a significant entry in Pakistani romantic cinema. Audiences eagerly await its release, hoping that the film will deliver both emotional depth and memorable cinematic moments.
