WASHINGTON — Former US President Joe Biden is battling advanced cancer that has reportedly spread to his bones and other parts of his body, according to an emotional interview given by his son, Hunter Biden, to the BBC.
Speaking about his father’s health, a visibly emotional Hunter Biden described cancer as a devastating and debilitating illness, expressing profound sorrow at seeing his father endure its physical toll. He revealed that the disease has progressed significantly, reaching the former president’s bones, yet praised his father’s resilience.
“My father remains the center of our family, an incredible dad, husband, and grandfather,” Hunter shared, adding that while he wishes his father would speak more about the struggle, the former president rarely complains about his condition.
Joe Biden, 83, initially disclosed his diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer in May 2025, less than four months after leaving the White House. Representatives confirmed in October of that year that he was undergoing radiation and hormone therapy. Following Hunter’s latest interview, the former president’s office declined to issue an immediate statement.
Joe Biden served as the 46th US President from 2020 to 2024 and previously as vice president under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.
