Islamabad(The COW News Digital)Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has made further allegations in the ongoing dispute involving former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmaker Saqib Chadhar, claiming that she was blackmailed while efforts were being made to settle the matter.

Speaking during an interview on Rehan Tariq’s podcast, Momina said she had previously filed a case concerning alleged harassment, blackmail, cyberbullying and death threats. However, she claimed that instead of focusing on the allegations raised in her complaint, discussions surrounding an alleged personal relationship were brought into the proceedings.

Momina categorically denied being in a relationship with Saqib Chadhar and emphasized that she had never consented to such a relationship. She said a woman’s refusal should be respected under all circumstances, even if she decides to withdraw from a marriage shortly before the wedding.

“Refusal means refusal,” she said while discussing the circumstances surrounding the dispute.

The actress also alleged that violence against women was considered normal within Chadhar’s family environment. She claimed that incidents involving physical abuse of women, including alleged beatings and other forms of violence, contributed to what she described as a particular attitude toward women.

These allegations were made by Momina during the podcast and have not been independently verified.

She further claimed that she had been dealing with psychological trauma for approximately four years as a result of the circumstances surrounding the dispute. According to her, she wanted to leave the controversy behind and move forward with her life.

Momina also discussed her earlier association with Saqib Chadhar during the beginning of his political campaign. She said she had assisted him with his public image, including arranging photo shoots and helping with his overall grooming and presentation.

According to the actress, tensions escalated after an alleged kidney-related scandal involving Chadhar emerged during the election period. She claimed that her father subsequently intervened and ended any association between the two.

Momina alleged that she later faced threats and pressure while attempting to distance herself from the situation. She said efforts were also made to resolve the dispute through reconciliation, but she described the process as another source of pressure and alleged blackmail.

The actress reiterated that she wanted her position to be understood clearly and maintained that the central issue should remain the allegations of harassment, threats and intimidation that she says prompted her legal action.

The claims remain allegations made by Momina Iqbal, and any legal findings or independent verification would determine the facts of the dispute.
