LAHORE: Acclaimed veteran Pakistani actor Naumaan Ijaz has revealed for the first time that he was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, crediting spiritual faith and daily recitation of Surah Ar-Rahman for his miraculous recovery without requiring chemotherapy.
During a recent emotional interview, the senior actor shared that doctors diagnosed him with a cancerous growth near his ear in mid-2024. Recalling his initial reaction to the diagnosis, Ijaz stated that he turned to prayer, appealing directly to the Almighty and reflecting on his lifelong commitment to integrity and fairness in his personal and professional dealings.
“I asked Allah that if my time was up, He should call me back swiftly, as I could not bear to see my family endure prolonged suffering,” the actor stated, admitting that he dreaded undergoing painful medical procedures and wished to avoid prolonged hospital stays.
Ijaz revealed that after learning of his illness, a close friend advised him to regularly recite Surah Ar-Rahman. Following the advice, he incorporated the daily recitation into his routine, believing it played a paramount role in his healing process. Subsequently, he underwent a successful surgical procedure to remove the tumor.
Remarkably, just a day before his scheduled chemotherapy session on July 23, 2024, medical tests revealed no remaining cancerous cells, allowing doctors to cancel the treatment entirely. Emphasizing the power of faith and spiritual healing alongside medical intervention, the celebrated actor expressed profound gratitude for his complete recovery.
