National ( The cow news digital ) Two Pakistani female taekwondo athletes, who have previously won gold medals at international competitions, are seeking sponsors to participate in an upcoming event in Thailand.
Taekwondo players Tayaba Ashraf and Sumbul Fatima are hoping to represent Pakistan at the international competition scheduled to begin on July 31. Both athletes gained recognition last year after winning gold medals at the same event and are now looking for financial support to continue their international journey.
The athletes have collectively secured five gold medals and one silver medal in previous competitions, becoming the only female players from Pakistan to achieve podium finishes at the event.
Tayaba Ashraf and Sumbul Fatima said they have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming competition and want to once again bring pride to the country. However, limited financial resources have become a major obstacle to their participation.
The players shared their appeal on social media, requesting support from sponsors to help cover travel, registration, and other expenses related to the tournament. They expressed hope that arrangements would be made before the event begins.
The athletes said that due to funding difficulties, they had registered in fewer categories at the open event. They added that securing financial assistance has become challenging, and even borrowing money for participation is not an easy option.
Despite the difficulties, both players remain determined and confident about their preparation. They said their goal is to compete at the highest level and win medals for Pakistan once again.
