According to her statement, two employees working at her retail store are accused of diverting customer payments into personal bank accounts instead of depositing them into the company’s official account. Gulati said she had long suspected discrepancies in the store’s accounting but confirmed the issue only after conducting a surprise inspection.
She further revealed that one of the accused employees, a store manager, allegedly admitted to misappropriating approximately 800,000 rupees. The second employee, reportedly a sales executive, is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to locate her. The matter has also been reported to local authorities, and the actress stated that she spent an entire day at a police station assisting with the investigation.
The alleged fraud is believed to have continued over a period of nearly six months, during which the employees are accused of consistently collecting payments from customers but routing them to private accounts. Gulati expressed concern over the breach of trust and financial impact on her business operations.
She also issued a public advisory to customers, urging them to verify payment details carefully and ensure that transactions are made only to official company accounts. She emphasized the importance of collecting receipts and confirming payment authenticity before completing any purchase.
