Updating its Defense Casualty Analysis System, the Pentagon registered more than 140 additional wounded personnel along with four service members killed in recent Iranian strikes. The report incorporates data from both Operation Epic Fury and a newly introduced “Overseas Operations” tracking category established on July 7 to document casualties from ongoing regional engagements.
According to the branch-by-branch breakdown, those killed include 11 members of the U.S. Army, six from the U.S. Air Force, and one from the U.S. Navy. Among the 624 wounded personnel, 461 belong to the Army, 86 to the Navy, 58 to the Air Force, and 19 to the Marine Corps.
The update follows scrutiny from lawmakers and media outlets regarding earlier casualty discrepancies. The revised tally officially accounts for casualties sustained across various regional incidents, including three troops killed during a drone strike in Jordan and another service member killed during counter-drone operations in northern Iraq.
Defense analysts note that the newly released figures underscore the escalating human and military toll of the ongoing regional conflict.
