MUMBAI — Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has firmly addressed and debunked viral social media claims alleging that she deliberately ignored her co-star and producer Aamir Khan during a promotional event.
Preity Zinta is currently preparing for her much-anticipated return to the big screen after an eight-year hiatus. She is actively engaged in promotional activities alongside actor Sunny Deol and producer-actor Aamir Khan for their upcoming film Lahore 1947. Amid these promotional events, a short video clip shared by a paparazzi page went viral, questioning whether the actress had intentionally snubbed Aamir Khan.
In the video, Zinta is seen stepping out of her vanity van, appearing slightly confused by the surrounding crowd and asking for directions. After paparazzi directed her, she walked straight ahead. Aamir Khan happened to be standing outside his nearby vanity van at that moment, but Zinta walked past without engaging with him, prompting online speculation about a rift between the two stars.
Addressing the controversy directly, Preity Zinta took to the comments section to call out the footage as “clickbait content” and labeled the narrative as misleading. She clarified that she did not see Aamir Khan because she was in a major rush to finish her indoor shoot and immediately catch a flight for film promotions.
Zinta emphasized that she holds immense love and respect for Aamir Khan, making such negative speculation entirely unwarranted. She further cautioned that if paparazzi pages continue to promote sensationalized and negative angles, they should not expect her to pause for photographs in the future.
Zinta was last seen on screen in the 2018 film Bhaiaji Superhit. Lahore 1947, backed by Aamir Khan Productions, is scheduled to hit theaters on August 14.
