World ( The cow news digital ) Russian missile and drone attacks across several regions of Ukraine have left at least eight people dead and dozens more injured, according to Ukrainian authorities. The strikes, which hit multiple cities and towns, have further escalated tensions in the ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.
Ukrainian officials reported that the attacks targeted several key areas, including Dnipro, Sumy, Odesa, Kherson, and Kharkiv. President Volodymyr Zelensky described the strikes as “horrific,” stating that civilian infrastructure and populated areas were once again hit in overnight bombardments.
In the Dnipro region, a missile strike reportedly killed at least five people and injured 28 others. Emergency services were deployed to the scene to rescue survivors and provide medical assistance, while local authorities continued search and recovery operations in damaged buildings.
Further south in Zaporizhzhia, a separate drone attack resulted in the deaths of three people, including a child, and left six others injured. Officials said residential areas were affected, raising renewed concerns over the safety of civilians in frontline and nearby regions.
Ukraine’s air defense systems were reportedly active during the assault, but multiple strikes still managed to reach their targets. Authorities have not yet provided full details on the extent of infrastructure damage caused by the attacks.
Meanwhile, Russia has reiterated its long-standing position on the conflict. The Kremlin stated that its stance on a potential peace agreement remains unchanged since 2024. Russian President Vladimir Putin has insisted that Ukraine must withdraw its forces from territories claimed by Moscow and abandon its aspirations to join NATO.
