World ( The cow news digital ) Saudi Arabia has conducted targeted airstrikes against Iran-backed militia positions in Iraq following a series of drone attacks aimed at key petroleum infrastructure in the Kingdom.
The operation was carried out by the Royal Saudi Air Force in direct coordination with the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM). Major General Turki Al-Malki, spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, confirmed that precision strikes targeted logistics and weapons facilities in Basra, Wasit, Karbala, and Nineveh associated with factions responsible for recent aerial attacks.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the military action was exercised under the inherent right of self-defense as codified in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. Officials reiterated that while the Kingdom does not seek a broader regional escalation, it reserves the full right to respond decisively to safeguard its sovereignty, critical infrastructure, and economic security.
