World ( The cow news digital ) Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey are set to sign a landmark joint defense agreement today during a trilateral summit in Jeddah, according to Saudi military sources cited by international media.
The high-level meeting brings together Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Prime Minister Sharif arrived in Jeddah alongside Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir following an official invitation from the Saudi leadership. Military officials noted that while the trilateral framework has been under deliberation for some time, recent regional developments significantly accelerated its finalization.
A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the visit’s strategic importance for regional stability, diplomatic coordination, and peaceful conflict resolution in the Middle East. Islamabad expressed optimism that diplomatic progress under the Islamabad Reconciliation Framework concerning security in the Strait of Hormuz will help de-escalate regional tensions and pave the way for direct negotiations between the United States and Iran
