MUMBAI (The COW News Digital) Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai revisited an infamous physical altercated with superstar Salman Khan, detailing how an intoxicated argument nearly scuttled their collaboration before Salim Khan stepped in to broker peace.
Speaking to Indian media, the 81-year-old director recalled that the confrontation occurred at a high-profile party shortly after he had agreed to cast Khan in his film Yuvvraaj, following a suggestion from the actor’s brother. According to Ghai, an intoxicated Khan made inappropriate remarks and challenged his directorial authority, escalating a verbal dispute into a physical scuffle.
The situation was defused the following morning when legendary screenwriter Salim Khan intervened, reprimanding his son and directing him to apologize. Salim Khan phoned Ghai to express regret, after which Salman Khan personally visited the filmmaker’s residence to offer a formal apology.
Impressed by Khan’s humility and respect for his father’s advice, Ghai accepted the apology, resolving the conflict completely. The two went on to maintain a warm professional relationship and successfully completed Yuvvraaj together.
