KHARTOUM (The COW News Digital) At least 13 people were killed and 22 others injured after a drone attack struck civilian facilities and locations in Umm Rawaba, a city in Sudan’s North Kordofan state, according to local medical and volunteer groups.
The Sudan Doctors Network described the incident as a fresh massacre and blamed the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for the attack. The allegations have not been independently verified.
The strike reportedly caused panic across the area, with residents fleeing their homes and surrounding locations in an attempt to reach safety. Some people remained at the scene to assist those who had been wounded in the attack.
Most of the injured were transported to Umm Rawaba Hospital for medical treatment, according to the local volunteer organization. The extent of damage to civilian infrastructure was not immediately clear.
The latest attack comes amid an ongoing conflict between Sudan’s armed forces and the RSF, which has devastated large parts of the country and created one of the world’s most serious humanitarian crises.
