New York(The COW News Digital) Kristen Cabot, the HR executive who was photographed with her married boss during Coldplay’s Boston concert, has broken her silence, speaking publicly for the first time about the widely publicized incident.
In an exclusive interview with U.S. media, Cabot admitted that she made a poor decision. “I had a few drinks and behaved inappropriately with my boss. I take full responsibility for my actions and paid the price by stepping away from my career,” she said.
Cabot candidly confessed that she had a “crush” on her boss, former astronomer CEO Andy Byrne, and was excited to introduce him to her friends. She also addressed her children, stating, “People make mistakes, but those mistakes should not lead to threats or life-endangering comments.”
The HR executive revealed that following the incident, she faced intense online harassment, character assassination, and gender-based discrimination. She said that as a woman, she bore the brunt of the public scrutiny, which nearly destroyed her professional reputation. Despite the backlash, Cabot expressed determination not to let this scandal define the final chapter of her life.
The controversy erupted on July 16, when Cabot, 53, and Byrne were captured on camera together during the concert, sparking a viral social media frenzy. In the aftermath, Byrne resigned from his CEO position, and Cabot soon left her job as well.
On August 13, Cabot filed for divorce, although her husband claimed that their separation was decided prior to the concert. Meanwhile, Byrne remains married to his wife, Meghan.
Cabot emphasized that the public reaction exposed deep societal biases and the double standards women face in professional settings. She hopes her candid acknowledgment of the mistake and her experience with online harassment will serve as a cautionary tale while also promoting dialogue about accountability, gender bias, and personal boundaries.
Despite the personal and professional fallout, Cabot remains focused on rebuilding her life and setting a positive example for her children, reinforcing the message that mistakes do not define a person’s entire future.
