Acid Attack Doctor Shifted to Karachi for Treatment

National ( The cow news digital ) A female doctor injured in a recent acid attack has been shifted to Karachi for advanced medical treatment, as authorities continue investigations into the disturbing incident that took place in Quetta’s Civil Hospital.

According to police sources, the attack was carried out by Humayun Shah, a lift operator in the hospital’s general surgery ward, who allegedly threw acid on Dr. Mah Noor Nasser. The incident also left a ward boy, Abdul Razzaq, injured. The accused later died, and officials confirmed he was a resident of the Nushki district.

Law enforcement agencies have launched a detailed investigation into the case, examining multiple aspects of the incident. Authorities have sent the suspect’s mobile phone for forensic analysis, stating that digital and forensic evidence will play a key role in determining the circumstances leading up to the attack.

The Balochistan government has taken notice of the incident, confirming that Dr. Mah Noor has been transferred to Karachi for specialized treatment. Officials stated that her condition is being closely monitored, and she is receiving intensive medical care at a private hospital.

During a visit to Karachi, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti met the injured doctor and her family, expressing solidarity and condemning the attack in strong terms. Speaking to the media, he described the incident as brutal and said that the perpetrator had met his fate. He praised Dr. Mah Noor’s resilience, calling her a courageous daughter of Balochistan, and assured that she would receive the best possible medical treatment, including overseas care if required for reconstructive surgery.

The chief minister also stated that a detailed investigation is underway and declined to share further details until official findings are complete. He added that administrative matters related to ongoing protests by young doctors would be addressed upon his return.

Meanwhile, the Young Doctors Association has demanded the dismissal of senior health officials, including the secretary of health, the medical superintendent, and the hospital security in-charge. The association has announced continued suspension of non-emergency medical services in protest of the incident and has called for a peaceful demonstration in Quetta.

The case has sparked widespread concern over hospital security and patient safety, with calls for accountability and urgent reforms in the healthcare system.
