Karachi: (The Cow News Digital) Senior Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has expressed displeasure over a recent viral video in which her impersonation was performed, sparking debate on social media about satire, respect, and artistic boundaries.

The issue came into the spotlight after a clip circulating online showed an impersonation of Bushra Ansari. The video quickly gained attention, with users divided over whether such performances should be considered harmless entertainment or inappropriate imitation.

During a conversation with a private television channel host, Bushra Ansari was asked about her reaction to the video and the criticism surrounding her response. Some social media users had questioned her objection, pointing out that she herself has performed impersonations of other artists in the past.

Responding to the discussion, the veteran actress clarified that her past performances were based on respected female artists such as Noor Jehan, Tahira Syed, Musarrat Nazir, and Salma Agha. She said her portrayals focused on musical styles and performances rather than personal or disrespectful commentary.

Bushra Ansari emphasized that her impersonations never involved offensive language or personal attacks. According to her, the intent was always artistic, highlighting singing styles and stage presence without targeting individuals personally.

She added that some recent impersonations did not meet the standards of respectful performance. Without directly naming anyone, she suggested that certain portrayals lacked artistic quality and crossed acceptable boundaries of respect.

The actress further stated that she has always been cautious about whom she chooses to imitate. She recalled being urged to impersonate renowned singer Naheed Akhtar, but she initially refused, feeling unsure about accurately capturing her style. She eventually agreed to attempt it under the condition that she would only proceed if she could closely match the performance.

Bushra Ansari’s comments have reignited discussion about the limits of satire and impersonation in the entertainment industry, especially in the age of social media where content spreads rapidly and reaches a wide audience.

While many fans continue to appreciate her contributions to Pakistani entertainment, the debate highlights the growing sensitivity around digital content and public figures’ portrayals in viral media.
