Farmer Allegedly Cuts Cow’s Leg in Rajanpur Incident

National ( The cow news digital ) A disturbing incident has been reported from Rajanpur, where a local landowner allegedly cut off a cow’s leg after the animal entered his maize (corn) crop field. The incident has sparked public concern and legal action after details emerged through police and local sources.

According to police officials at the Kot Mithan police station, the case was registered against the landowner and his associates following a complaint. The complainant stated that the cow had strayed into the maize fields, after which the landowner and his workers allegedly responded with extreme violence, resulting in severe injury to the animal.

Law enforcement authorities confirmed that a formal investigation has been initiated, and efforts are underway to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and whether additional individuals were involved. The injured animal is reportedly under care, while veterinary authorities assess its condition.

The case has drawn criticism from animal welfare circles and local residents, many of whom have called for strict action against those responsible. Authorities have stated that cruelty toward animals is a punishable offense under existing laws, and no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

In a separate but similar incident reported from Jacobabad, a donkey was injured after being attacked with a hatchet when it allegedly entered a residential property. Police officials confirmed that a case was registered on the complaint of the animal’s owner, and the accused farmer was arrested shortly after the incident.

Meanwhile, wildlife authorities have also taken notice of a separate viral video showing the skinning of a dead lion. Following the circulation of the footage on social media, the Chief Wildlife Ranger formed a special investigation team led by the Deputy Chief Wildlife Ranger of the Lahore Region to trace those involved.

Officials from the wildlife department stated that the team will investigate the matter thoroughly and take legal action against anyone found responsible for violating wildlife protection laws. Authorities emphasized that strict enforcement measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

These incidents have raised renewed concerns about animal safety and enforcement of animal cruelty laws in rural areas, where disputes over crops and property sometimes escalate into violence against animals.

Police and wildlife departments have assured that investigations will continue until all responsible parties are identified and brought to justice.
