Karachi( The COW News Digital)Senior Pakistani actress Ghazala Javed publicly criticized the mother of late actress Humaira Asghar during a recent podcast interview, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding Humaira’s tragic death and her mother’s controversial statements.
During the interview, Ghazala Javed was asked about various issues, and she took the opportunity to respond to remarks made by Humaira’s mother, who had claimed that people of Karachi “are not good.” Ghazala dismissed those comments and turned her focus on the mother herself.
“I would like to ask Humaira’s mother — what kind of mother are you? Your daughter passed away, and two Eid festivals have gone by without you even realizing it,” Ghazala said with visible emotion. She expressed deep sorrow over the lack of attention and care Humaira reportedly received from her family in her final years.
Ghazala, who is a mother herself, shared her personal perspective, saying, “If my married daughter even falls ill, I cannot sleep at night. A mother always senses her child’s pain.” She praised Humaira as a “very good girl” and said, “If my daughter was like Humaira, I would be proud of her.”
She further lamented that Humaira lived alone for seven years but never engaged in any wrongdoing. “Had she been involved in drugs or bad company, she would have had a house and a car by now. The words ‘no work’ or ‘no money’ would never be associated with her. She was talented but left us too soon.”
Ghazala expressed sympathy for Humaira’s parents and said, “In my opinion, the most unfortunate children are those whose mothers are not there for them.”
The case of Humaira Asghar’s death has attracted widespread media attention. Her decomposed body was discovered on July 8, 2025, in a flat in Karachi’s Ittehad Commercial area. The landlord had approached the court over unpaid rent, and when bailiffs failed to get access, they forced entry, revealing the tragic scene.
Initial post-mortem reports indicated that Humaira’s death occurred approximately 8 to 10 months before the body was found, highlighting disturbing delays in discovering her fate.
The circumstances surrounding Humaira’s death remain under investigation, and the revelations have sparked debates about family responsibility and the plight of struggling artists in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
