Delhi(The COW News Digital)Indian actress Sonal Chauhan has appealed to the Indian government for assistance after becoming stranded at Dubai International Airport following flight suspensions triggered by rising tensions between Iran and Israel.
According to reports, missile activity linked to the ongoing regional escalation led to the temporary suspension of operations at major airports in Dubai. Authorities halted departures and arrivals as a precautionary measure, leaving thousands of passengers stuck inside terminals without clarity on when flights would resume.
Chauhan, known for her work in Bollywood and South Indian cinema, took to social media to seek urgent help. In her post addressed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she stated that she was unable to secure a return flight to India due to widespread cancellations.
“Respected Prime Minister Modi ji, I am currently stranded in Dubai due to the ongoing crisis. Flights have been cancelled and there is no clear route back to India. I request the government’s guidance for a safe return and would be grateful for any assistance,” she wrote.
The situation intensified after reports of retaliatory actions in the region prompted authorities to suspend airport operations indefinitely. Besides Dubai International Airport, operations at Al Maktoum International Airport — also known as Dubai World Central (DWC) — were also reportedly affected. Both airports rank among the busiest aviation hubs globally, serving millions of passengers annually.
Travel disruptions have created chaos for tourists, business travelers, and expatriates. Many passengers reported long waiting times, overcrowded terminals, and uncertainty regarding rescheduling or refunds. Airlines have advised travelers to monitor official announcements and remain in contact with customer service channels for further updates.
Indian diplomatic authorities have yet to release a formal statement regarding Chauhan’s appeal. However, in previous international crises, the Indian government has launched evacuation and assistance missions to ensure the safe return of its citizens from conflict zones.
The broader Iran-Israel confrontation has already disrupted regional airspace, shipping routes, and commercial activity, raising concerns about prolonged instability. Aviation experts warn that continued military exchanges could result in extended airspace closures across parts of the Middle East, impacting global travel networks.
For now, stranded passengers, including Sonal Chauhan, await official guidance as authorities assess the evolving security situation. The incident highlights the far-reaching consequences of regional conflicts on civilian life and international mobility.
