National ( The cow news digital ) The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has officially rejected reports circulating on social media and some platforms claiming a significant reduction in petrol and diesel prices.
According to an official statement issued by an OGRA spokesperson, no government notification has been released regarding any change in petroleum product prices. The authority clarified that all such reports suggesting a price cut are false and misleading.
The spokesperson emphasized that any adjustment in fuel prices is only announced through an official government notification. Until such a statement is issued, no changes in petrol or diesel rates should be considered valid.
Recently, rumors had surfaced claiming that the government had reduced fuel prices significantly, leading to confusion among the public. However, OGRA has categorically dismissed these claims and urged citizens not to believe or share unverified information.
The authority further appealed to media outlets and social media users to exercise caution and verify news before publishing or forwarding it. It warned that spreading unconfirmed reports about fuel prices can mislead consumers and create unnecessary panic in the market.
Officials reiterated that petroleum pricing remains a regulated process and any revision is made only after proper approval from the relevant government authorities. OGRA stated that no press release or formal announcement has been issued in this regard.
