In its statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the attack underscored a growing global worry regarding the use of Afghan territory for cross-border terrorism. The spokesperson emphasized that the involvement of a drone highlighted the gravity of the threat, calling for urgent international attention.
Expressing sorrow over the deaths, the spokesperson conveyed Pakistan’s heartfelt condolences to Tajikistan, China, and the families of the victims. The statement noted that Pakistan deeply understands the grief of the Chinese and Tajik people, having itself suffered from terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.
The Foreign Office accused the Afghan Taliban of continuing to provide safe havens and support to militant groups operating from Afghanistan. “The hosting of terrorist organizations under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban remains a matter of serious concern,” the spokesperson said. Pakistan called for practical, verifiable action against terrorist networks functioning from Afghan soil, stressing that only concrete steps—not verbal assurances—can ensure regional stability.
The attack has further strained regional security dynamics, especially as China remains one of the largest investors and economic partners in Central and South Asia. Analysts warn that continued militant activity in border areas could jeopardize infrastructure projects and foreign engagement in multiple countries.
Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with China and Tajikistan to strengthen regional peace and security. The Foreign Office stressed that cooperation among neighboring states is essential to counter transnational threats and prevent further escalation.
The latest incident adds to growing international pressure on the Afghan interim administration, which has repeatedly faced accusations of failing to curb militant networks operating within its borders. As regional countries reassess their security strategies, the demand for coordinated counterterrorism measures is expected to intensify.
Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed that investigations are underway, while China has yet to issue an extended statement on the attack. The incident is being closely monitored by regional governments and international observers.
