PM Shehbaz Welcomes AJK Agreement, Reaffirms Commitment to Kashmiris

Islamabad ( The COW News Digital) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the landmark agreement between the government’s negotiation committee and the Joint Action Committee (JAC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), declaring that public interest and peace remain the government’s top priorities. He assured that the concerns of the Kashmiri people would be addressed with sincerity and urgency.

According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, Shehbaz Sharif praised the negotiation team for its efforts in reaching a peaceful resolution and lauded the JAC members for their constructive role. He described the successful talks as “a major achievement for Pakistan and AJK,” emphasizing that the restoration of peace and normalcy is a positive development for the entire region.

“The conspiracies and rumors have finally been put to rest, and all matters have been resolved amicably,” the Prime Minister said. He congratulated both sides on the outcome, thanking the JAC members for their cooperation and commitment to dialogue.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that the government has always stood by its Kashmiri brothers and sisters, and will continue to safeguard their rights. “We were the protectors of their rights before, and we will remain so in the future,” he declared. Stressing the importance of unity, he urged the people of AJK not to be misled by baseless propaganda or rumors.

Highlighting his administration’s approach, the Prime Minister noted that the government has consistently prioritized issues faced by the people of Azad Kashmir, and will continue to work diligently to resolve them. “Public interest and peace are our priorities. We will keep serving the people of AJK with dedication,” he said.

This agreement follows days of tense negotiations after mounting public concerns in AJK, with protests threatening to disrupt daily life. The resolution is being viewed as a significant step toward ensuring stability in the region. Analysts believe the success of this dialogue process reflects a new willingness on both sides to prioritize consensus over confrontation.

The Prime Minister concluded his remarks with a message of hope, underscoring that dialogue and cooperation are the keys to solving problems. “Together, we can overcome challenges and ensure lasting peace in Azad Kashmir,” he added.
