Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have strongly condemned the firing on government vehicles in Lower Kurram, calling it an attack on peace efforts in the region.
President Zardari emphasized the need for action against those attempting to disrupt peace in Kurram, stating that such elements are enemies of the people and seek to spread chaos in the country. He urged the public to stand united against these malicious attempts.
The incident occurred in Bagan, Lower Kurram, where unidentified assailants opened fire on government vehicles, injuring multiple individuals, including Deputy Commissioner Javed Mehsud.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prayed for the swift recovery of the injured, including the Deputy Commissioner. He remarked that the attack was an attempt to undermine the peace agreement in the region, vowing that those disrupting law and order and committing acts against humanity will not succeed. The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the government and security forces remain committed to combating terrorism and ensuring stability in the area.
