Pakistan ( The cow news digital ) A meeting of the joint parliamentary party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf reportedly turned tense after a heated exchange between party members Shahid Khattak and Senator Zarqa Suharwardy Taimur, according to sources familiar with the meeting.

The internal gathering, which included members of the National Assembly and Senate from the party, witnessed strong reactions after Shahid Khattak allegedly accused Senator Zarqa of accepting money and questioned her presence in the meeting. The remarks reportedly sparked immediate criticism from several party leaders present at the session.

Senior PTI leader Barrister Ali Zafar strongly objected to the statement and expressed anger over what he described as disrespect toward a fellow party member. According to sources, Barrister Ali Zafar warned that he would boycott the meeting if such behavior toward party colleagues continued.

Other lawmakers present at the meeting also reacted sharply to Khattak’s remarks, stating that he had crossed acceptable boundaries. Several members reportedly urged party leadership to maintain discipline within internal discussions to avoid further controversy.

During the meeting, Senator Zarqa defended herself and rejected the accusations. She stated that she had already responded to the notice issued to her and questioned why she would still be part of the party if her explanation had been unsatisfactory.

Sources also revealed that Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who chaired the meeting, attempted to calm the situation. In a light but pointed remark, he reportedly said that while the region was facing tensions due to the Iran conflict, the party seemed to be dealing with its own internal battles.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Junaid Akbar Khan also voiced concerns during the session. He suggested that a small group within the party was making key decisions without broader consultation and questioned why legal relief had not yet been secured for the PTI founder.

Junaid Akbar further claimed that a few individuals were influencing major party decisions and that certain committee matters had been handled without proper consultation.

The reported disagreement highlights ongoing internal tensions within PTI as the party navigates political and legal challenges. Observers note that unity within the party leadership could play a crucial role in shaping its future political strategy in the coming months.
