Pakistan and India have renewed the Kartarpur Corridor agreement for another five years, allowing Sikh pilgrims to continue visiting the historic Gurdwara Darbar Sahib without a visa. The renewal was confirmed by officials on both sides, who described it as an important step toward maintaining people-to-people contact despite ongoing political tensions.
The Kartarpur Corridor, opened in 2019, enables Indian Sikh pilgrims to travel directly to the holy site in Narowal, Pakistan. Thousands of visitors use the route each year, especially during the birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak.
Officials said the renewed agreement ensures that all operational and security arrangements will remain in place. They noted that the corridor has become a symbol of religious harmony and regional cooperation. While broader diplomatic issues between Pakistan and India remain unresolved, the continuation of the project is seen as a positive gesture focused on faith, culture, and humanitarian value
