Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a high alert in Punjab following the onset of monsoon rains across the province. Authorities warned of potential flooding, waterlogging, and disruption to daily life in vulnerable areas.
PDMA officials urged residents to remain vigilant, avoid low-lying and flood-prone areas, and follow safety guidelines issued by local administrations. Emergency teams have been deployed to monitor rivers, drainage systems, and critical infrastructure to ensure rapid response in case of any emergencies.
The authority also called on citizens to stay updated on weather advisories, limit non-essential travel during heavy rainfall, and cooperate with rescue and relief operations. Schools and public offices in high-risk zones are being monitored for safety, and precautionary measures have been taken to minimize potential damage.
Officials emphasized that proactive preparedness and community cooperation are essential to safeguarding lives and property during the monsoon season.
