New York (The COW News Digital) Pakistan has strongly called for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and an end to Israeli occupation across all Arab territories. Speaking at the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Asim Iftikhar, emphasized that Pakistan remains steadfast in supporting the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of a free and sovereign Palestinian state.

During his briefing, Iftikhar highlighted ongoing violations of the ceasefire by Israeli forces in Gaza. Since the ceasefire announcement, over 300 Palestinians have reportedly been killed, and homes continue to be destroyed, leaving civilians living in fear. He reported that the situation remains dire, with additional attacks resulting in the deaths of four more Palestinians, prompting aid organizations to temporarily suspend operations in the territory.

Condemning the ongoing attacks in the strongest terms, Pakistan’s envoy stressed that the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 is essential to enforce the ceasefire and restore peace. He urged the international community to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches civilians without obstruction, particularly in light of the approaching winter, which exacerbates the suffering of the Gaza population.

Iftikhar also called for the immediate initiation of reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in Gaza. He warned against any forced annexation or displacement, asserting that such actions must not be permitted under any circumstances.

“The Palestinian people must be protected, and unrestricted humanitarian support must be provided immediately,” Iftikhar said. “Pakistan stands firmly with Palestine in its struggle for an independent state, and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital is essential.”

He further underscored that the cessation of Israeli occupation across all Arab territories is critical to achieving lasting peace in the region. Pakistan reiterated its commitment to work with the international community to ensure that the ceasefire is upheld and that the Palestinian people are granted their legitimate rights under international law.

The Pakistani representative’s briefing highlighted the urgent need for global attention and action to end violence in Gaza, provide immediate relief, and support the reconstruction of infrastructure. Pakistan’s firm stance sends a clear message to the Security Council that sustained international intervention is vital to protect civilians and uphold Palestinian sovereignty.
