Iran Warns Neighbors Against Hosting Future Attacks

TEHRAN (The COW News Digital) Iran has issued a stern warning to neighboring and regional countries, cautioning that its response would be different if their territory or military facilities were used for future attacks against Iran by the United States or Israel.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei delivered the warning during a press conference in Tehran, urging countries across the region to reconsider their policies and actions, particularly those that allowed their military installations or territory to be used during recent hostilities involving Iran.

Baghaei said Iran considers its relations with neighboring countries important but would not accept the use of their territory as a platform for military action against Iranian targets. He warned that any future aggression by the United States or Israel against Iran, if facilitated through the territory of a regional country, could trigger a different response from Tehran.

The Iranian spokesperson called on regional governments to prevent their territory and military infrastructure from being used by parties involved in military operations against Iran. He said Tehran had already communicated its concerns to neighboring countries through diplomatic channels.

The warning comes amid continued tensions between Iran and the United States, with Tehran maintaining that any renewed American military action could result in a stronger Iranian response.

According to Reuters, Iranian officials have also been considering expanding the scope of potential retaliation beyond direct US military facilities to countries that support or facilitate American military operations against Iran.

The developments have added to concerns about the possibility of further escalation across the wider Middle East, particularly if regional military bases become involved in any future confrontation between Tehran and Washington.

At the same time, diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States have continued, despite significant disagreements between the two sides. Tehran has presented conditions linked to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and other outstanding issues, while negotiations remain complicated by differences over security and military matters.

The Strait of Hormuz remains strategically important for global energy supplies, making any prolonged disruption a major concern for regional governments and international markets.

Iran’s latest warning highlights the delicate position of neighboring states that host foreign military forces or provide access to military infrastructure. Tehran’s message suggests that it expects regional countries to prevent their territory from being used in operations directed against Iran.

The statement also underscores the broader diplomatic and security challenges facing the region as Iran, the United States and Israel remain locked in a period of heightened tensions.

While Iran has emphasized its preference for maintaining relations with neighboring countries, the warning indicates that Tehran intends to respond more firmly if regional territory is used for future attacks against Iranian interests.
