Lahore police have formally arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Flak Javed in connection with the Jinnah House attack case.
Police presented Flak Javed before an Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore after recording her arrest in the case. The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Malik Abid Hussain, who considered the police request for her physical remand.
The court subsequently approved a five-day physical remand of Flak Javed, allowing investigators additional time to question her and proceed with the investigation into the case.
The development came on the same day that the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court granted Flak Javed post-arrest bail in a separate case involving an alleged attack on police personnel outside Zaman Park.
In that proceeding, Judge Malik Abid Hussain approved her bail application after hearing arguments from both sides. The prosecution had opposed the request, maintaining that allegations against the PTI activist warranted continued legal proceedings.
According to the prosecution, Flak Javed is facing charges registered at the Race Course police station in connection with an alleged attack on police and other related offences.
Flak Javed has remained in jail in connection with cases registered over the May 9 incidents. Her legal proceedings have continued across multiple cases as authorities pursue investigations into violence and attacks reported during the unrest.
The Jinnah House case relates to the violence and damage reported at the Lahore Corps Commander House, commonly known as Jinnah House, during the May 9 unrest. The case is among several high-profile cases being investigated against PTI supporters and activists.
The latest court order means that despite receiving bail in the Zaman Park-related case, Flak Javed will remain subject to judicial proceedings because of the separate Jinnah House case and other pending matters.
Further proceedings in the Jinnah House case are expected after the completion of the five-day physical remand. Investigators will present their findings before the court as the legal process moves forward.
