PML-N Sweeps By-Elections, Wins Majority of Seats

Islamabad(The COW News Digital)The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has emerged as the clear victor in the latest by-elections, securing a sweeping majority across both the National Assembly and Punjab Assembly constituencies. According to complete unofficial and unconfirmed results, PML-N won all six National Assembly seats and six out of seven Punjab Assembly seats, many of which were vacated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) due to disqualifications or other legal developments.

National Assembly Results

The most surprising upset came from NA-18 Haripur, where PTI-backed independent candidate Sehrnaz Omar Ayub suffered a decisive defeat. PML-N’s Babar Nawaz Khan won the seat with 163,996 votes, outperforming Sehrnaz’s 120,220 votes by a significant margin. This seat was previously held by former Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan, who was disqualified in the May 9 case.

In Lahore’s NA-129 constituency, PML-N’s Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman secured victory with 63,441 votes. PTI-supported Arslan Ahmed finished second with 29,099 votes. The seat had fallen vacant after the death of PTI leader Mian Azhar.

In Dera Ghazi Khan’s NA-185, Mahmood Qadir Khan of PML-N won convincingly with 82,416 votes, defeating PPP’s Dost Muhammad Khosa, who received 49,262 votes. The seat was earlier vacated due to the disqualification of PTI’s Zartaj Gul.

PML-N also dominated NA-143 Sahiwal, where Muhammad Tufail Jutt secured 136,223 votes, defeating independent candidate Zarar Akbar Chaudhry, who managed only 13,220 votes.

Similarly, in Faisalabad’s NA-104, PML-N’s Danial Ahmed emerged victorious with 52,791 votes, while independent candidate Rana Adnan Javed stood second with 19,262 votes.

In NA-96 Faisalabad, Babar Badar Chaudhry secured 93,009 votes to claim the seat. He is the brother of State Minister Talal Chaudhry.

Punjab Assembly Results

PML-N continued its strong showing in the provincial by-polls. In PP-87 Mianwali, Ali Haider Noor Khan Niazi won with 67,986 votes. In PP-98 Faisalabad and PP-115 Faisalabad, Azaad Ali Tabassum and Muhammad Tahir Parvez respectively secured comfortable victories.

In PP-116 Faisalabad, Ahmed Shehryar—son-in-law of federal adviser Rana Sanaullah—won with 48,824 votes. He claimed the seat earlier held by disqualified PTI MPA Ismail Sela.

More victories followed in PP-203 Sahiwal and PP-73 Sargodha, where PML-N candidates Muhammad Hanif and Sultan Ali Ranjha won with significant margins.

The only setback for PML-N came in PP-269 Muzaffargarh, where PPP’s Almdar Abbas Qureshi secured victory with 55,611 votes.

With these results, PML-N has strengthened its political foothold both at the federal and provincial levels, dealing a significant blow to PTI-backed candidates across the board.
