National ( The cow news digital ) Family members of former Prime Minister Imran Khan have issued an appeal to political party office holders, senior leadership, Members of National Assembly, Members of Provincial Assemblies, and Senators, urging them to gather outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday in a bid to increase pressure on the government regarding his detention.
In the statement, his family has demanded immediate permission for legal and family visits, saying that his lawyers and close relatives have been denied regular access. They have also called for urgent medical evaluation and treatment, suggesting that Imran Khan should be transferred to Shifa International Hospital for a comprehensive health examination under specialist doctors, along with the presence of his personal physician and family members.
The appeal further stresses that conditions of detention are allegedly preventing adequate medical care and fair legal proceedings. The family claims that restricting access to legal counsel and relatives amounts to a violation of both domestic legal protections and international human rights standards.
Separately, concerns were raised regarding the legal status of bail petitions related to Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. The family has urged that the Chief Justice, referred to in statements as Justice Dogar, ensure that pending bail applications are scheduled for urgent hearings to prevent what they describe as prolonged and unjust detention.
Aleema Khan, a member of the family, has been vocal in the appeal, stating that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are being held under conditions described as solitary confinement, which she characterized as severe and in violation of legal and humanitarian norms.
According to the appeal, the proposed gathering of political representatives at Adiala Jail is intended to highlight concerns over due process, medical access, and judicial delays. The family has called on political leaders across party lines to participate, framing the issue as one of legal rights rather than political affiliation.
The government and prison authorities have not yet issued an official response to the latest appeal. Previous statements on similar claims have generally emphasized that legal proceedings are ongoing and that detainees are being held in accordance with established procedures.
