National ( The cow news digital ) Authorities in Rawalpindi have registered a case against the sisters of former prime minister Imran Khan following unrest reported on Adiala Road near the central jail.

According to police officials, the case was filed after a protest and sit-in escalated into alleged violence, including clashes with law enforcement personnel. Among those named in the First Information Report (FIR) are Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Niazi.

The FIR also lists over 400 individuals, including several political figures and party workers. Authorities stated that the protest involved road blockades, alleged acts of vandalism, and attempts to disrupt public order. The demonstration reportedly took place near Adiala Jail, a sensitive location due to ongoing political developments.

Police claimed that 41 individuals present at the scene were arrested, while a number of others fled. During the clashes, at least nine police personnel were reported to have sustained serious injuries, with several others also wounded.

Law enforcement officials further stated that 13 vehicles were taken into custody during the operation. Items allegedly linked to the preparation of improvised incendiary devices, including glass bottles, fuel, cloth, and sticks, were recovered from one of the vehicles. These claims are part of the ongoing investigation and have yet to be independently verified.

The FIR alleges that the protest was organized with political intent and aimed at exerting pressure on the provincial government through disruptive means. It further accuses participants of damaging a police vehicle and engaging in stone-pelting.

Authorities have invoked multiple legal provisions in the case, including charges related to rioting, attempted murder, resistance against law enforcement, and other serious offenses. The case has been registered at the Sadr Barooni police station.

Officials also stated that the protest call was linked to Aleema Khan, although no formal response from the accused parties has been reported so far.

The incident highlights ongoing political tensions in the country, particularly surrounding protests linked to opposition figures. Analysts note that such developments may further intensify the already charged political environment.

Investigations are currently underway, and authorities say further action will be taken based on evidence collected during the inquiry.
