High Security in Adiala Jail Ahead of Imran Khan Meeting

Islamabad (The COW News Digital) Security measures around Adiala Jail have been significantly intensified as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is scheduled to meet visitors today. Authorities have implemented a comprehensive two-shift security plan to maintain law and order in the area.

From Gorakhpur to Dahgal checkpoints, commercial centers and educational institutions have been temporarily closed to ensure smooth security operations. Over 1,200 officers and personnel from multiple law enforcement agencies have been deployed around the jail premises.

The security setup includes 20 police station heads, eight Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and two Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) assigned to specialized duties. In addition, 48 female commandos, including six lady inspectors, are part of the security team. Agencies involved include the Punjab Constabulary, Rescue Police Force (RMP), Dolphin Squad, and Elite Force. Anti-riot equipment has also been provided to the police for any eventuality.

Supervision of all security operations has been entrusted to SSP Operations Tariq Malik, along with SP Central Inam Sher, who are monitoring activities on the ground. Security officials have conducted thorough inspections of the deployment to ensure readiness.

Meanwhile, a five-member medical team from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has arrived at Adiala Jail to conduct a comprehensive health check-up of Imran Khan. The team includes General Physician Dr. Ali Arif, General Surgeon Dr. Tariq Abdullah, Pathologist Dr. Saman Waqar, Dermatologist Dr. Mubashir, and Lab Technician Noman Iqbal. The jail authorities had formally requested PIMS to facilitate the complete medical examination of the PTI founder.

Officials emphasized that these measures are part of routine protocols for high-profile inmates and visiting arrangements. The enhanced security and medical preparedness highlight the authorities’ focus on both safety and health standards for high-risk prisoners.

This heightened alert has caused significant disruption in local business and daily life, but authorities stress that these measures are temporary and essential for maintaining order.
